Underworld Gunman falls to death when taken to show weapons

COLOMBO (News 1st); An underworld gunman identified as Shirar alias Tuan had died after falling into a quarry pit on Tuesday (9) in Nawagamuwa.

The gangster was under the custody of the Police Special Task Force and fell into the pit when he was taken to show hidden weapons.

Sri Lanka Police said that he is connected to the gunning down of SLPP Kotikawatte Mulleriywa Pradeshiya Sabha Member Sumudu Rukshan on the 2nd of August at the Mulleriyawa Bank Junction.

The suspect, a motorcycle gunman along with another had arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the SLPP Local Government Member.

The Police Special Task Force also said that he is the the shooter responsible for multiple other murders.
