Three-day school week begins

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education says that it has been decided to hold schools only for three days during this week.

The Ministry said that schools should be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until further notice.

However, since next Thursday is a public holiday, the above process will be observed only during this week.

In a statement, the Ministry of Education said that steps should be taken to provide home-based activities to the students or conduct education activities via online on Friday.

Schools can be held on Friday under the approval of the Regional Education Director if certain schools do not face transportation issues.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Education, a flexible schedule should be set for teachers, so they can come to school at least three days a week and conduct educational activities.
