New Zealand HC discusses Sri Lanka's economic crisis with top political figures

COLOMBO (News 1st); The High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka,  Michael Appleton has met with several key political figures today (04).

Accordingly, he has met with the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, and had engaged in a discussion with regard to areas of current and potential cooperation between New Zealand and Sri Lanka, including the Economic crisis, the ongoing discussions to form an inclusive Government, and other areas of political and economic policy reform.

Ambassador Appleton had also met with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, and the two dignitaries spoke about Sri Lanka's economic crisis, the international community's role in supporting the country and the ongoing Government formation discussions.

He had also met with National Peoples' Power Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka and MP Vijitha Herath. 

The High Commissioner said they held discussions on Sri Lanka's economic and political crisis, the NPP’s political and economic policy approaches, the current public opinion and the role of the international community.
