COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Prisons said that the fourth dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 is being administered to the prison inmates.

The department stated that, accordingly, steps have been taken to give the fourth dose of of the vaccine against COVID-19 to prison inmates over 60 years of age.

At present, necessary measures have been taken to give the third dose to the inmates who have received the second dose.

In addition, inmates who remain unvaccinated will also be vaccinated under this program.

In the first phase, the inmates of Welikada, Magazine and Colombo remand prisons will be administered with the Pfizer vaccine doses.
