Two days allocated for school vans and buses to obtain fuel

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education has allocated two days of the week to enable vans and buses transporting school children to obtain fuel from SLTB depots.

Accordingly, school buses and vans will be able to obtain fuel on Wednesdays and Saturdays from SLTB depots, while the CPC and the SLTB have also agreed to provide fuel for school vans and buses from the nearest depot without leaving way for any disruptions.

Moreover, the Ministry of Education has also introduced a new private bus service; "Pasal Seva" from 1st August to enable teachers and students to attend school. These buses, bearing the name-boards of schools, will operate in two daily routes.

Gemunu Wijeratne, President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association, has agreed to provide the necessary buses and from August 1st, and both teachers and students can pay for this transportation service without any difficulty.
