Schools open from today (25)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Government and government-approved private schools will reopen with effect from today (25).

The Ministry of Education said that schools will function only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until further notice & on Wednesdays and Fridays students will be able to join online lessons.

Meanwhile, the Southern Provincial Education Secretary Ranjith Yapa said all the schools belonging to the Southern Provincial Council will operate on all five days of the week from today (25) to the 29th of July.

The Southern Province education authorities have also decided that if principals, teachers, and non-academic staff members are unable to attend due to transportation difficulties, prior approval should be obtained.
