COLOMBO (News 1st); The Lanka Private Bus Owners’Association said that only 4,000 buses will be in operation today (22).
The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association said that buses were able to obtain fuel from the SLTB Depots and CEYPETCO filling stations yesterday night (21) after allegations were made that there was no proper mechanism to distribute fuel.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board Kingsley Ranawaka said that from today (22) onwards fuel will be issued from the SLTB Depot only to private buses.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) said that nearly 3,600 buses will be put into operation today (22).
In addition, Sri Lanka Railways said that trains will be operated today (22) as the usual schedule.
