COLOMBO (News 1st); Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando, the Spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Colombo speaking to reporters in Colombo today said Sri Lankan authorities should have sought the assistance of Scotland Yard, Interpol, and other global law enforcement agencies to investigate the 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks. He criticized Acting President Ranil Wickremesighe for his delayed action on seeking such international assistance for an independent inquiry. Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando said the statements by the Acting President cannot be believed or accepted, as they are mere deception. He said that such statements are an insult to the victims of the Easter Sunday Attacks, as well as on those who are seeking justice. Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando alleged the Acting President is using the pain of the victims to become President of the country.
