Ready to work forward with an all-party Govt: Wimal

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chairman of the National Freedom Front, Independent MP Wimal Weerawansa claims that the 9-party group, which remains independent within the Parliament, is ready to work forward with the proposed all-party Government.

A discussion was held among the 09 party independent group today (10), at the Communist Party headquarters in Sri Lanka, regarding the search for a political solution to the present situation.

Former Minister and Independent MP Wimal Weerawansa stated that his opinion is that the President and the Prime Minister should resign, and while the Speaker functions as the temporary acting President, all parties should come together and act with the intent to establish an all-party Government which represents the entire Parliament.

Accordingly, the MP said that they hope to discuss this with the SJB, and to negotiate with other parties in the future.

He also added that it might be possible to establish the all-party Government before 13th July as well.
