COLOMBO (News 1st); A majority of the Party Leaders have decided that the President and the Prime Minister must resign immediately, confirmed Justice Minister (Dr) Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

He also said that that it was a majority view that the Speaker should take over as Temporary President, for approximately a week, and thereafter an All-Party Government should be formed to govern the country, and Parliament should appoint an Interim President.

He also said that Party Leaders have strongly condemned the Prime Minister for refusing to step down.
