COLOMBO (News 1st); A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-300 cargo plane had met with an accident on the tarmac when about to take off from the Katunayuake Airport on Tuesday (5).

The cargo plane had arrived from Istanbul, Turkey and was scheduled to depart from Colombo with a shipment of textiles.

However, due to gale winds experienced at the BIA one of the cargo containers had collided with the planes engine, forcing a delay in the operations.
