COLOMBO (News 1st); The Dehiwala Zoological Park, which had remained as one of Sri Lanka’s main tourist attractions, completes 86 years.
The Dehiwala Zoo, which was established in 1936, currently has around 4,000 animals, and it costs about Rs. 45 million to feed these animals.
Accordingly, in view of the current economic in the country, in conjunction with the 86th anniversary, a new foster program named ‘Sathva Sawiya’ and a donation scheme was initiated today (03).
Under this program, any citizen of Sri Lanka can take the responsibility of one animal or a group of animals, and provide them with food and other necessities.
