One-day passport service extended to three Districts

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Immigration and Emigration says that the one-day service of issuing passports will be initiated in three more districts from next Monday.

Accordingly, the one-day service will be initiated in Vavuniya, Matara and Kandy Districts.

Currently, the one-day service operates only at the head office of the Immigration Department in Colombo.

Immigration Controller General Sarath Rupasiri said that one-day passport services can be obtained from Vavuniya, Matara and Kandy district offices from next Monday (04), subject to prior appointments.

He mentioned that 3,000 people arrive at Colombo daily to get passports through the one-day service.
