COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Medical Institute said it will no longer offer services on Fridays & Saturdays starting from tomorrow (1), due to the current situation in the country.
The National Transport Medical Institute further informed the public that they can make an appointment for any day except for Friday & Saturday by calling 225 from any mobile number, and 1225 from any fixed land number.
Meanwhile, the Department of Motor Traffic has also decided not to provide services on Thursdays and Fridays with effect from Thursday (30).
However, the Verahera, Gampaha, and Anuradhapura District Offices will remain open on Thursdays for clients who made online appointments to renew their licenses.
Further, information regarding vehicle registrations and related matters can be obtained by dialing 0707 677 877, and for matters relating to licenses dial 0707 677 977 (Available from 9.00 AM – 4.00 PM)
Meanwhile, the Provincial Department of Motor Vehicles has also decided to grant a grace period until July 29th for vehicles registered in the Western and Southern Provinces to obtain revenue licenses without incurring fines due to the current fuel crisis.
