COLOMBO (News 1st); A personal dispute between two men in Akuressa had led to the beheading of a witch doctor, said Sri Lanka Police on Monday (27).
The Akuressa had police launched an investigation are reports surfaced that a man was murdered with the use of a sharp weapon in Akuressa.
The deceased was identified as a 70-year-old witch doctor who was operating a Devala in his residence.
Sri Lanka Police said that a 24-year-old man living next door had a personal dispute with the deceased at this morning he had used a sword the behead the witch doctor, and later had taken away the head.
The 60-year-old wife, and 40-year-old daughter of the deceased were injured in the attack and were hospitalized.
Sri Lanka Police said the suspect had reportedly thrown the head of the witch doctor into the Nilwala River.
The suspect had fled the area, and a police investigation is underway to locate and arrest him.
