Rains to continue, says Met Dept.

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showery condition over the Southwestern part of the island (Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts) is expected to slightly enhance during the next few days from tomorrow (24).

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in these areas.

Several spells of showers will occur in the North-western province.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the afternoon or night.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
