Social Media activist Anuruddha Bandara released

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Magistrate's Court today (21) ordered for the release of social media activist Anuruddha Bandara from the case filed against him.

The case was filed against Bandara citing publication of posts which caused a stir among the public using social media networks.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Keminda Perera announced a 10 page verdict and ordered for his release, as President's Counsel Saliya Peiris, who appeared for him, had made a request to the court that the suspect should be released from the case as there was insufficient evidence to pursue a case against him.
