COLOMBO (News 1st); Ministry of Power & Energy noted that a vessel carrying 35,000 MT of petrol is scheduled to arrive in the country on the 24th of June.
Also, another vessel carrying furnace oil is scheduled to reach the country on the 28th of June, said a senior official in the Ministry of Power and Energy.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan authorities said that a situation has arisen where a fuel tanker cannot be moved towards the buoy for unloading, due to the large size of the vessel.
It is reported that the vessel is currently in international waters.
People are still waiting in lines in hope of purchasing fuel for their essentials.
