Sanath Nishantha's brother remanded for assault & obstruction

COLOMBO (News 1st); SLPP Member of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha Jagath Samantha was arrested and remanded until the 23rd of June for charging at fuel queue at a filling station in Arachchikattuwa and assaulting an individual, while obstructing the duties of police officers.

The suspect is the brother of Former State Minister from the SLPP Sanath Nishantha.

The Local Government Member had charged at a fuel queue at a filling station in Arachchikattuwa on Friday, and attempted to obtain a stock of a fuel stating that he had a permit to purchase fuel without staying in the queue.

The altercation had taken place thereafter. The suspect Jaganth Samantha and two others were informed to report to police, and they did so today.

Thereafter, the men were produced in court.
