Fuel distribution to be audited

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Audit Office says that a special audit will be initiated regarding the distribution of fuel across the island.

Auditor General Chulantha Wickramaratne said that the audit will be conducted in view of the complaints received alleging that fuel is not being distributed to all filling stations in the country in a fair and orderly manner.

He further stated that various irregularities in the distribution of fuel at certain filling stations have also been reported.

The National Audit Office mentioned that only fuel distributions made by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will be covered during the relevant audit, and noted that the Indian IOC is not subjected to the National Audit Process.
