COLOMBO (News 1st); The Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) said in a press conference today that the closure of universities is not the answer to the crisis, and will only further disrupt education.
Prof. Shyama Banneheka, the Chairman of the Federation of University Teachers’ Association, stated that the education of children in the country has been severely disrupted due to the recent pandemic, and the time which was followed by the pandemic.
Therefore, the association has urged the Government to not to allow the education of children in this country to be further disrupted due to the economic and the political crisis.
Expressing the organizations’ displeasure, Prof. Banneheka said that closure of universities or schools or is not the answer to the country’s issues.
