Crime at GotaGoGama: Police call for vigilance

COLOMBO (News 1st);Police says that the amount of crimes taking place in the Galle Face Green area, where currently the GotaGoGama protest site is located, has recorded an increase.

According to the Police Spokesperson, a large number of complaints with regard to stolen goods, stolen vehicles and stolen mobile phones. 

Moreover, Police reports that cases of assault too have been reported among the people, and a particularly heated situation on yesterday (16) led to one being hospitalized while another was arrested.

Therefore, Police have cautioned the public to remain vigilant when traveling at the Galle Face area.
