COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Immigration and Emigration noted that it is NOT possible to apply for a passport VIA online under the one-day service until 20th July 2022.
The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that the decision was taken due to exceeding the maximum limit that can be applied daily.
The Department further said that from the 21st of July, applications can be submitted VIA online under the one-day service again.
At present, the number of passports issued daily is 2,500.
The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that 31,725 passports were issued during the first 10 days of June which is higher than the previous months.
