COLOMBO (News 1st); The Petroleum Trade Unions said that a vessel carrying 30,000 MT of Furnace oil has been stuck at the port of Colombo from April 26th for 50 days due to the lack of dollars in the country.
Due to the ship not being released, the daily demurrage is approximately USD 18,000.
The trade unions pointed out that if the payment is made for the furnace oil shipment, it will be able to supply fuel to six power plants in the country.
Meanwhile, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has permitted the Electricity Board for a 2-hour and 15-minute power cut today (15).
