Murders reported from Kuruwita & Mallawi

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two homicides were reported from Kuruwita and Mallawi in the past 24 hours.

Sri Lanka Police said that a 34-year-old man had beaten his 66-year-old father to death with a pole in the Pohorabawa area in Kuruwita.

Police said the killer was intoxicated at the time, and the deceased was attacked while trying to settle a dispute between his son and wife.

Police said they arrested the suspect.

A man who was found on the street with a serious injury to his head in Mallawi, died upon hospital admission.

Sri Lanka Police said the deceased was found on the street while returning home from an uninvited party.

An investigation is underway to arrest the suspects responsible for the crime.
