COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have urged the people to avoid bathing or swimming at unsafe places during pilgrimages and excursions during the long holidays.
The Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Nihal Thalduwa also cautioned parents to remain vigilant with children while bathing.
Meanwhile, a person who went to bathe in a waterfall in the Udugamkanda area in Padukka has drowned, with the deceased being identified as a 54 year old resident of Bope.
The body has been placed at the Padukka Hospital, Police said.
Two young men too, died after drowning yesterday (11).
