SLPP wants Dhammika Perera in Parliament through National List; Submission made to Election Commission

COLOMBO (News 1st); Businessman Dhammika Perera's name submitted to Elections Commission for the SLPP National List post left vacant following the resignation of Basil Rajapaksa, said SLPP General-Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam.

Basil Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka's Former Finance Minister and SLPP National List MP quit parliament on Thursday (9) after submitting his letter of resignation to the Secretary-General of Parliament.

He said he was paving the way for a more suitable candidate to enter parliament via the national list.
