SLFP extends full support for an all-party Govt: Sirisena

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Maithripala Sirisena stated in Parliament today (8) that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will give its full support to an all-party Government.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena, SLFP MP stated that two to three months ago, the SLFP held discussions with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on two occasions regarding the formation of an all party Government, while discussions were also held with international organizations regarding the matter. 

Pointing out that discussions were also held with regard to assistance given by international organizations if an all-party Government is formed, former President Sirisena also called for the determination of a time frame for holding an election.

He added that international organizations have extended their support if an all party Government is formed to bring the country back to normalcy.

Therefore, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, will give our full commitment towards the formation of an all party Government, the former President said, expressing their support.
