COLOMBO (News 1st); The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association said that private bus services will be restricted on Monday (6) due to the fuel crisis.
The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association, Gemunu Wijeratne said that the number of buses operating on Monday (6) would be limited to 5,000 to 6,000.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the National Transport Commission Nilan Miranda said that steps have been taken to operate buses on Monday (6) according to the passenger requirement.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager of Railways Gamini Seneviratne said that train services are still operating as usual.
The Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) said that the current fuel reserves of the CEB will be sufficient for bus services in the next few days.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport said that a program will be prepared to provide fuel for public transport services including passenger buses.
