Tirantha Walaliyadda quits HRC Committee on 9th May Violence

COLOMBO (News 1st); President's Counsel Tirantha Walaliyadda has resigned from his post as a special representative of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka.

He was appointed to the committee investigating the attack on peaceful protesters on the 9th of May.

The president's counsel, who was appointed to the post on May 17th, told News1st he resigned due to personal reasons.

The Human Rights Commission said two new members have been appointed to this committee.
