COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has stated that the issuance of diesel and petrol to filling stations will continue.
However, in many areas, people continue to experience hardships due to the fuel shortage.
Therefore, owners of tourist boats affected by the fuel crisis staged a protest near the Aluthgama Co-operative Filling Station today (29). The protesters said they had no means to obtain fuel to sustain their industry.
Meanwhile, farmers of Morakandagama in the Galenbindunuwewa Divisional Secretariat are facing severe difficulties due to the fuel shortage. They point out that the lack of fuel has made it impossible to continue farming.
Fuel was not released at many filling stations in Kandy this morning despite people waiting in long queues.
