Attack on GotaGoGama: 16 suspects arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); 16 suspects have been arrested in relation to the incidents which took place at Galle Face and Colpetty on 9th May, says the Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa. 

Speaking on the investigations which have been launched recently, the Police Spokesperson said that four suspects have already been released on bail while 12 suspects remain in custody. 

The suspects are due to be presented in Court on 1st June, after the identification parade conducted on 28th, 29th and 30th of May. 

Moreover, 12 Members of Parliament have been interrogated in this regard while two currently remain in custody, he added.
