Opposition Leader meets WHO Rep in SL

COLOMBO (News 1st); Permanent Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sri Lanka Alaka Singh called on Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa on Monday (23) at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Colombo.

The Leader of the Opposition requested strong support from the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve the healthcare sector in Sri Lanka.

The discussion particularly focused on the shortage of medicines in the country and it was stressed that immediate solutions are required to remedy the situation.

Singh commended the "Vipakshayen Husmak" program by Samagi Jana Balawegaya through which essential medical equipment was donated to over 50 Hospitals across Sri Lanka.
