Sajith meets UN Food Program delegation

COLOMBO (News 1st); Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa met a delegation consisting of the Country Director of Sri Lanka - World Food Program Abdul Rahim Siddique, the Permanent Representative to Sri Lanka and the Maldives - Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Vimalendra Sharan and the Deputy Director for Sri Lanka - United Nations World Food Program Mr. Andrea Berardo, yesterday (19) at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.

The delegation had a long deliberation with the Opposition Leader on the issues pertaining to the current food crisis and food security in Sri Lanka, including the need to maintain a clean and disinfected environment from the point of production up until consumption.

The food crisis Sri Lanka has encountered at present was taken into particular consideration.
