Met Dept. warns on increasing wind speeds

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that wind speed can be increased up to (50-60) kmph in the sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanturai and Hambanthota to Pottuvil.

These sea areas will be rough. Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the other sea areas around the island and these sea areas will be fairly rough at times.

Therefore, Fishing and naval community are requested to be attentive to future forecasts further, issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.
