CBSL Governor, Finance Secretary summoned to COPF

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance have been summoned to the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) next week.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Committee on Public Finance chaired by Parliamentarian Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.

The Gazette Notification containing the Import and Export Control Regulations issued on 9th May under the Import and Export Control Act was approved by the Committee on Public Finance, which met yesterday.

Steps have also been taken to save funds spent on importing goods through this gazette notification without hindering local industries and exports.
