COLOMBO (News 1st); Jealousy caused for my residence to be destroyed, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Keheliya Rambukwella says.
For the third time this week, parliamentary sessions revolved around the unrest that broke out in Sri Lanka last Monday (9).
Parliamentarian, Keheliya Rambukwella speaking at the Parliament stated that although a system change must be introduced, demanded as to how such change can be introduced if protestors who speak of democracy outside the Parliament and of sending all 225 MPs home, and if so, as to how the administration of the country is due to take place.
"The time has come to uplift the country by disregarding any party differences. If the 22 million people have entrusted this responsibility with the 225 parliamentarians, we must do it in a democratic way," he said.
MP Rambukwella further stated that his house was built before he entered politics, and even received 6 architectural awards in 1991, and spoke of varied other accolades which his house was presented with.
Therefore, he added, this situation arose due to jealousy, and everything which was being spoken by the arsonists and looters have been recorded.
The MP added that he wish to humbly say that he will continue my life as before.
