8 people arrested on Wednesday (18) over GGG & MGG attacks

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said after an investigation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) 8 suspects have been arrested in connection with attacks on the MynaGoGama & GotaGoGama peaceful protest sites.

A Mayor, Two members of Pradeshiya Sabhas, and 3 others were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on Wednesday (18) over their involvement in the attacks on the GotaGoGama and MynaGoGama peaceful protest sites.

Further, SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the suspects are scheduled to be produced to the Magistrate's Court on Thursday (19).

SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that SLPP MPs Milan Jayathilake, Sanath Nishantha, and two others who were arrested over their involvement in the attacks on the GotaGoGama and MynaGoGama peaceful protest sites were remanded to the 25th of May by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (18).
