COLOMBO (News 1st); The Controller General at the Department of Immigration and Emigration said that the issuance of passports under normal and one-day services resumes with effect from Tuesday (17).

It is compulsory to make an appointment to obtain these services, therefore applicants are requested to use the website http://www.immigration.gov.lk/ or contact 0707101060 for this purpose.

As the daily issuing capacity of Passports of the Department is approximately 2,000 passports, the general public kindly requested to avoid the inconvenience caused by visiting without making the appointment.

Furthermore, it is emphasized that rumors of increasing the passport charges or shortage of the stock of passports are FAKE, said the Department of Immigration and Emigration
