COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed four Special Committees to obtain proposals to provide relief to the people while eliminating the shortage of essential goods and services.
Vajira Abeywardena and Palitha Range Bandara were appointed to obtain proposals by consulting the relevant divisions, in order to provide essential food items to the public without any shortage.
Ruwan Wijewardena has been tasked with obtaining information relating to the medicine shortage.
Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will be reporting on the fertilizer shortage in the country.
Sagala Ratnayake will be reporting on the petroleum crisis.
This committee is expected to meet with all the stakeholders and identify the real issues, and obtain their proposals.
