Two people remanded for assault on Senior DIG Thennakoon

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspect who were arrested for assaulting Senior DIG in-charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Thennakoon were remanded until Thursday (12) by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

Additional Magistrate Shalini Perera ordered for the suspects to be remanded so that they can be produced in an identification parade on Thursday (12).

Sri Lanka Police informed the court that another suspect arrested over the incident is currently being treated at the Colombo National Hospital.

The Magistrate is expected to inquire into the suspects, and make an order.
