6 CID teams probing attacks on peaceful protests

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that six teams from the Criminal Investigations Department are investigating the attacks on the GotaGoGama and MynaGoGama peaceful protest sites.

The investigations are spearheaded by two Superintendents of Police, under the direct supervision of the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department.

The CID has summoned the Head of Security for the Former Prime Minister, the OIC of the Colpetty Police, and the Main Organizer of the event that took place at Temple Trees on the 9th of May, to record statements.

Sri Lanka Police said facts were also reported to the Fort Magistrate's Court.

Police further said that the Government Analyst has also been summoned to the GotaGoGama premises today (11) for further investigations.
