BASL concludes talks with SLFP, continues talks with SJB

COLOMBO (News 1st); The discussions between the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party-led group of 11 parties has concluded.

However, the discussions with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya led by the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa are still underway.

Several special discussions are also due to be held between the President, the Prime Minister, party leaders representing the independent MPs including the former President and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.

President's Counsel Saliya Peiris, President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, stated that the discussions will focus on the series of proposals put forward by the BASL.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka recently presented 13 proposals to bring about political and economic stability in the country.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya-led Samagi Jana Alliance yesterday decided to support the national program based on a series of proposals put forward by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to resolve the crisis in the country.
