COLOMBO (News 1st); President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has declared emergency law with effect from midnight on Friday (6), said the President's Media Division.

The President has declared so, in the interest 

of public security, the preservation of public order and the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the 

community.
