WEATHER ALERT; Advisory for heavy rain

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and Ampara district during the evening or night.

Winds speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times in the Northern, North-central, North-western, and Southern provinces.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
