COLOMBO (News 1st); His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said that the details of the Easter Attacks were deliberately concealed by many because they wanted to secure power at the elections.

“Many were aware of the attacks, except for us. They never told us about it. If they had told us, we could have saved those people. The people were sacrificed because of some wanted power. The President and all other officials including in the security forces dereliction from their duties,” he said during a service in Italy.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Sri Lanka and families of the victims of the 2019 Easter Attacks, were also present for the mass where His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith stressed the fact that justice has been sought for the victims for more than three years.

Speaking further, he said that the ongoing People’s Struggle will emerge victorious.
