COLOMBO (News 1st); A tense situation was reported at a Kerosene queue at the Dalupotha Filling Station in Negombo on Thursday (28) night as the Kerosene distribution was suspended two times in the evening due to power outages.
People were waiting in line since afternoon to obtain Kerosene, and at around 10 PM the owner had informed the people that he had run out of stocks.
Irate locals had then argued with the owner and demanded that Kerosene be released to them,
News 1st Correspondent said that due to the heated situation the filling station was damaged.
The people were alleging that the owner was concealing stocks of Kerosene and thereafter, the people had informed the Negombo Police regarding the matter.
Following an investigation, the Negombo Police uncovered that the owner of the filling station was concealing kerosene stocks.
Following police intervention, Kerosene was again sold to the people who were at the filling station.
