COLOMBO (News 1st); The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka announced that power outages will NOT be implemented on the 1st & 3rd of May.

Moreover, the 2nd of May has been declared a special Government holiday.

Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, J.J Ratnasiri stated that this special holiday was declared because of the existing transportation difficulties and problems encountered in operating the offices during power outages.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs said that this should NOT be an obstacle to the maintenance of essential Government services.
