Man dies after waiting for hours for kerosene

55-year-old father of two dies upon return after waiting for 5 hours in a line for Kerosene

A 55-year-old man who was in queue for over 5 hours at a filling station in Hatton to purchase kerosene had passed away after returning to his home early morning on Wednesday (27).

He was a father of two and a resident of Dumburugiriya, Hatton.

"He came home late at night. He said his legs were hurting and his dinner was also delayed. He was fine, he wasn't on any medication either. He said he was feeling unwell at around 1 am," said he wife.

The remains of the deceased were sent to the Specialist Forensic Physician at the Dikoya Base Hospital.

The filling station in Hatton received a 6,600 litre stock of Kerosene oil from CEYPETCO on Tuesday (26) evening for the first time in several weeks.
