COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ambassador of the United States to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung has called for a full, transparent investigation into the Rambukkana incident. 

While condemning the violence both against the protestors and the Police, the US Ambassador has also called for restraint and calm from all sides. 

The people’s right to peaceful protest must be upheld, she added. 

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka also called for investigations into the matter.
